Glenda is an award-winning presenter. In 2001, she received an award for Best News Anchor at the Asian Television Awards, along with then-fellow 360 presenter Melvin Yong. She also received High Commendations in 2000.
As well as 360, Glenda anchors Channel NewAsia’s Primetime News, Asia Tonight and World Tonight every weekday evening.
Prior to presenting, Glenda worked first as a news reporter and then as a producer for current affairs programmes. She has hands-on experience in conceptualising, writing and editing feature and documentary specials.
Glenda has also been involved in coverage of many major news events, such as the SARS outbreak, Bali bombings, Iraq War, September 11 terrorist attacks, US Presidential elections, Bosnian war, ouster of Philippine President Joseph Estrada, elections in Indonesia and East Timor, and Singapore Airlines crash in Taiwan.
Early in her career with Channel NewsAsia, Glenda was sent on attachment to ABC in New York to learn under Peter Jennings. She also had a stint with Fox in St Louis and San Francisco.
Prior to joining Channel NewsAsia, Glenda worked in the United Kingdom for The Mirror Group’s television arm, L!ve TV where she presented hourly news headlines.
Glenda holds a Masters in International Studies from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University.
