A notation of codenames and code numbers of JI members was
found in a notebook recovered from Faiz Abdullah Ashiblie.
Codes were used in communications among JI members. Each JI
member would be assigned a code number and a codename as a
security measure. Codes were also used when notifying JI members
of meetings. Using the "BMTDK" model, JI members
would be notified of the date, time and venue of the meeting
through a series of code numbers. For example, a message such
as "2320212726" would denote a meeting on the 23rd
(23) of the month at 2000 hrs (20) at the residence of JI
member whose code number was "21". The code number
of the JI member who sent the message was "27" and
the intended recipient of the message would be the JI member
whose code number was "26".
