In the final medal tally, powerhouse
China dominates the
Asian sports arena with 150 golds in all, exceeding its previous
record of 129 golds.
South Korea, who ousted Japan from the spot
as Asia's No.2 sports-leader mid-games, now stands a distant
52 golds ahead of Japan. Japan has to be content with being
third best again (see 13th
Games tally) until the next games.
Previously fifth, Kazakhstan, climbs up one
spot to fourth this games.
Rounding up the top five, Uzbekistan leapfrogs
from its previous tenth spot.
Meanwhile, newcomers North
Korea and Afghanistan
stand at the 9th and 36th spot respectively.
Malaysia stayed at 12th position while Singapore,
with its record catch of five golds, stabled one notch below
at no. 13.
Thirty-nine out of the 44 participating countries
are on the tally list.
