Singapore heaved a sigh when
they finally netted their first
gold at the bowling alley.
But that was not the end. Bowler Remy
Ong (left) became the
first Singaporean athlete over 50 years to win more
than two titles at any Asiad. He won the men's singles,
trios, and Masters title.
Swimmer Neo Chwee Kok holds the record,
clinching three individual gold medals and a team first
in the relay in New Delhi.

At the end of the day, Singapore
hauled a total of 5 gold medals, with 17 medals overall
-- the best ever result for Singapore at the Games.
The country had targetted for only
two golds this Asian Games.
The record of five golds has not been
seen since the first Asian Games in New Delhi in 1951.
While three of the golds were for bowling,
the other two were from bodybuilding.
