Oct 9- Hopes of silver vanish but
Singapore has netted in four bronzes from its team of sailing men
and women.
The skies looked overcast for the men earlier in
the day as contenders in the 420 and laser drop out of the top three
in their overall results.
However, The 470 men and 420 women made a shot
at the bronze, while optimist sailor Teo Wee Chin maintained his
third spot.
On the women's side, Xu Lijia from China
is clearly in the lead for the optitmist girls 9 race. No.2 Sarah
Tan's position is not so rock hard however, and she was overtaken
by Japan's Kiuchi Yoko. She ends up third as well.
10 of Singapore's sailors are participating in
the Optimist Boys/Girls, OK Dinghy (Open), Mistral Lightweight,
Laser, Laser Radial (Open), 420 and 470 races at the Busan Yachting
Centre. Check back for the concluding action tomorrow! previous

Oct 8 - The winds are out of favour
for Teo Wee Chin who placed seventh out of 11 in his ninth race.
He drops out of the top three to fourth overall.
Meanwhile, the 420, 470 and laser guys are staying
in the third spot, while Sarah Tan is sticking to her second place
overall.
Oct 7 - Previously placing second
in overall performance, the men's 420 and men's optimist participants
have slipped a notch to the third spot, while the 470 leds redeemed
themselves by placing No.2 in the eigth race.
Meanwhile, Sarah Tan's consistent performance today
has let her stayed at the overall no.2 spot, right behind China's
Xu Lijia.
Oct 6 - There are no sailing events
today.
The 470 men two boys have sailed all the way to
the overall second spot by race six with their consistent performance.
And it looks like the wind is favouring Teo Wee
Chin who comes right after top performer Chew Xian Jian in the overall
ratings. Though Teo did pip Chew to the top spot in the 6th race.
Sarah Tan also climbs one notch up to third overall
in the optimist girls 2 race. The thirteen-year-old, the youngest
in the Singapore contingent this year, promises to be someone to
look out for.
