KUAN YEW GLOBAL BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION 2003/2004
The
Singapore Management University (SMU) is pleased announce that the
following teams have been awarded the top honours in the second
Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition:
Winner: DermaTech, Inc (Singapore)
Institution : National University of Singapore, Singapore
Brief Description :
DermaTech is focused on the research and development, manufacturing,
marketing and distribution of its proprietary transdermal drug delivery
platform technology - DermaSystem. DermaSystem enables the fast,
easy, reliable and safe delivery of drugs to animals through skin
for disease prevention and cure, using cutting-edge Transdermal
Microprojection Array (TMPA) technology.
First runner-up: TMD Corporation (Singapore)

Brief Description :
Our product is a Fiber-reinforced Plastic made from incorporating
chicken feather fibers with traditional commodity plastics such
as polyethylene and polypropylene. We seek to add value to worthless
industrial waste and to convert them into useful materials for manufacturing
various products.
Second runner-up: AIUMA MDT (United Kingdom)
Institution : Imperial College London, UK
Brief Description :
AIUMA MDT has developed a platform technology for multi-drug testing
that is quick, simple and accurate. The device samples a pin-prick
of blood, and returns diagnosis within seconds. Market entry is
via a much needed GHB test. The platform has the potential to enable
real-time blood analysis.
