The new global media is all part of a new game, says Singapore's Trade and Industry Minister George Yeo, in his frankest dissertation yet of the state of the media.

He was speaking at Newsworld Asia on Friday which wraps up three days of meetings by media executives in Singapore.

Brigadier-General Yeo said the competitive nature of the global media has created a set of new dynamics which is increasingly beyond the control of governments.
