It is said time heals the pain, and for one
Singaporean who witnessed the September 11 terrorist attacks
in New York last year, it also changed his outlook on life.
Vincent
Lam, 38, is an avid photographer.
And during his trip to New York last September
to attend a conference, he captured the very moments when
the world changed.
One year on, the youth group leader said he
is still haunted by the images of people jumping to their
death from the World Trade Centre towers.
The tragedy has prompted him to take a step
back and reflect on life.
"Life is short and fragile, things might
happen any time without you even knowing it, and I believe
that we should take our life each day as it comes, and to
appreciate whatever we have in Singapore, especially in Singapore,
we don't have any disaster," said Mr Lam.
Since returning from New York, Vincent says
he has been getting more young people to take part in humanitarian
work in countries like East Timor.
