Yet another local Malay group
- Taman Bacaan - has come out to reject the views of Fateha.com.
Taman Bacaan, a Malay literary group, said it
supported the Malay community's concerted effort to correct
the unfounded claims by Fateha's chief executive Zulfikar
Mohamad Shariff.
The Fateha leader had claimed that the 13 detained
by the ISD were driven to terrorist activities by the Singapore
Government's 'alignment' with the United States and Israel.
Taman Bacaan said that by rejecting Fateha's
position, the Malay community has signalled it has the gumption
to take to task those who misrepresent it.
The statement was signed by the president of
Taman Bacaan Abdul Halim Kader.
Urging the Malay community to remain united,
Taman Bacaan said it was confident the community would emerge
from this episode stronger.
In the past week, several local Malay groups
such as MUIS, Majlis Pusat and mosque leaders have come out
to robustly reject the views of Fateha.
