Singapore did not escape the threat of terrorism. In early 2002,
15 people arrested by Singapore's Internal Security Department
for terrorist-related activities and 13 of them were detained
for two years under the Internal Security Act. The remaining
two were released, subject to strict restrictions over where
they travel and who they meet.
Evidence showing their links to the Al-Qaeda terrorist network,
and a video shot by one of the detainees of possible terrorist
targets in Singapore, including the Yishun MRT station were
soon released. Find out more about Singapore's own fight against
terrorism. >>>
