There was a period of time
When Singapore was down
We were affected by the war and then came SARS
However we held on together
And now we survived
Then we realised that unity was very strong

We decided to start work
To represent our unity
We started to sew a blanket for Singapore

We call this the Fabric of the Nation
Which represents Singapore
Every design and every piece of it
Is our heart, our love, our everything for Singapore

The young nation Singapore
Is able to stand to stand on its own
We managed to prove to the world
That Singapore is strong
Ever since we gained independence
We never fell at all

We are happy that we are united
And to show our unity
We started to sew a blanket for Singapore

We call this the Fabric of the Nation
Which represents Singapore
It's the strongest piece of fabric
No scissors, no fire, nothing can destroy it

Now we come to the end of this song
Though the song will end
But the Singaporeans' unity will forever stand
