Singapore has confirmed 89 new cases (366th to 454th cases) of Influenza A (H1N1-2009) today, bringing the total tally to 454 confirmed cases. In addition to these 89 new cases, 53 other cases were pending investigation yesterday. Of these 142 cases, 65 have been investigated. They comprise 34 local cases, and 31 imported cases. The remaining 77 cases are still being investigated.
The 34 new local cases comprise 10 new cases in the Republic Polytechnic cluster and seven new cases in the Maju Camp cluster. There are also two new cases in the Tekong Cluster and both are full-time national servicemen. In addition, there is a new cluster from an NUS Orientation Camp comprising three new cases and one previously unlinked case.

Advisory to All Travellers
With more local cases of infection appearing, it is important that all of us exercise good hygiene practices, such as covering the mouth with a tissue when coughing and sneezing. Those who are unwell are encouraged to see a doctor and to stay away from work, school or crowded places. While most who have contracted H1N1 have recovered uneventfully or are in stable condition in hospitals, there are certain groups of people who have a higher risk of developing complications from H1N1, such as young children, those with co-morbidities, and pregnant women. By being socially responsible, we can help protect these members of the community from being infected.
