Unforgettable Experience

 |
It has been two months since I left Singapore in February for the start of my Leg 5 journey. |
During these past two months I have had many memorable experiences, the most number of first time experiences in my life.
From Qingdao to Hawaii, the race would be remembered for my falling really ill and also adapting to life on a yacht. I would say that my contribution to the boat during that voyage was very minimal. I had a tough time adapting to the physical requirements of working on the yacht and during my illness the thought of giving up at Hawaii also cropped up. But with the care from my fellow crew members and a positive mindset, I have survived to tell the tale.
Currently on this Hawaii to Santa Cruz race, I would say that my contribution has increased due to me staying healthy and my body more conditioned. Although, I know that my fellow mates would have gladly asked for more output from me, I am satisfied with my contribution given my relatively poor physical strength. This race has also been more interesting as our Skipper Mark adopted a different strategy as compared to the other yachts so there were days of trepidation as we waited in anticipation to know the outcome of our plan.
Finally, during these last few days, I am feeling a bit sad that the race is ending soon. My short stay on Uniquely Singapore is coming to an end and I would leave with a tinge of sadness as I would be leaving this group of wonderful mates and skipper. Thanks to all the guys and gals on Uniquely Singapore for making this an unforgettable experience.
Thank You.
