Barisan Nasional works hard to win voters

Saturday, March 13 was nomination day.

The ruling coalition Barisan Nasional secured 14 parliamentary seats uncontested on March 13.

The withdrawal of a PAS candidate from the Kota Tinggi parliamentary seat gave BN its 15th uncontested seat.

PAS candidate Abu Bakar Sakak bowed out to BN's Syed Hamid Albar who's also Malaysia's Foreign Minister.

Late Monday night two more opposition candidates withdrew from their parliamentary seats in Sabah, giving BN a total of 17 uncontested seats.

The signs are all good, in Sabah at least, according to analysts.

BN big guns have been hard at work to win over voters, going as far as rural Kedah where Prime Minister Abdullah addressed a group of fishermen and their families in rural Kedah.

PM Abdullah also went to hotly-contested Ipoh to woo the Chinese voters.
