Early voting begins in Malaysia's Teluk Intan by-election

Early voting for Malaysia’s Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election for 410 voters began at the Hilir Perak Police District Headquarters multipurpose hall on Tuesday morning.

TELUK INTAN: Early voting for Malaysia’s Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election for 410 voters began at the Hilir Perak Police District Headquarters multipurpose hall on Tuesday morning.

The voting process for the electors comprising mainly policemen and their family members closes at 5 pm on Tuesday.

They are part of 60,349 registered voters in the by-election.

The constituency has 23,301 Malay voters (38.3 per cent), 25,310 Chinese voters (41.9 per cent) and 11,468 Indian voters (19 per cent).

Barisan Nasional's Mah Siew Keong faces DAP's Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud in the by-election scheduled for Saturday.

The by-election is being held following the death of incumbent member of parliament Seah Leong Peng on 1 May.
