SINGAPORE: English football club Manchester United on Thursday (Aug 21) announced it will now be available on LINE, the social messaging platform.
It said users of LINE can now access the club's news, videos and imagery directly from the mobile app, and share it with their friends and contacts. The English language version was launched globally on Thursday, while local language versions are also available in Japan and Thailand, the club said in its statement.
Manchester United added it recently exceeded 55 million fans on Facebook, and celebrated a year on Twitter by amassing nearly three million followers in that time.
"With a potential audience of nearly 500 million users, Line is the latest innovative and fun way for our fans in Asia and beyond to engage and deepen their ties with the club they love," said Group Managing Director Richard Arnold.
