KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said on Friday (July 25) that the Malaysian team sent to Ukraine to help in investigations into the crash of MH17 has finished gathering data from the crash site.

Speaking upon his return from Kiev, Mr Liow said Malaysia would send more disaster victim identification experts to help speed up the identification of bodies.

He added that two police investigators would also head to Ukraine, together with Malaysia's Attorney General, to initiate a possible criminal investigation into the crash.

Transport Minister Liow said: "It is important that we look from all angles. I think that besides the accident investigation, we have to look also at the criminal aspect. We have to be detailed and thorough, so that we can get to the bottom of it. We demand justice and we want justice to prevail."
