No casualties reported in S Korea subway arson attack

No casualties were reported on Wednesday after a man reportedly set fire on a subway train in the South Korean capital of Seoul. The 71-year-old, identified by his surname Cho, allegedly ignited a seat in the subway car after dousing it with flammable liquid.

SEOUL: No casualties were reported on Wednesday after a man reportedly set fire on a subway train in the South Korean capital of Seoul.

According to Yonhap news agency, the 71-year-old, identified by his surname Cho, allegedly ignited a seat in the subway car after dousing it with flammable liquid.

The police said 370 passengers were evacuated from the train, and the fire was put out by subway employees.

Yonhap reported that Cho was sent to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for mild burns.

On 19 May, 11 people were injured in Gunpo, just south of Seoul, after an electrical insulator exploded in a subway train.
