JAKARTA: After almost a decade in office, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has released his first autobiography.

Titled "There Is Always A Choice", Dr Yudhoyono hopes his book can inspire Indonesia's future leaders.

As his second and final term in office comes to an end, Dr Yudhoyono has decided to give Indonesians a glimpse of what it is like to be the country's president.

His autobiographical book recounts his experiences as the leader of state during the past nine years.

The book includes his personal anecdotes, thoughts and personal lessons. He hopes the book can help the next president face the challenges and daunting task of leading the world's third largest democracy.

"I wrote a lot about the current condition of our country including our politics and democracy. It includes issues on development and progress as well as the challenges and problems we face," said Dr Yudhoyono.

Dr Yudhoyono's autobiography is his first book that focus on his personal experiences. He had previously written three other books.

Television host Indra Bekti said the autobiography will help the next leader of Indonesia.

"It's a good book because they will learn about the key to success of being a leader as (Dr Yudhoyono was) elected twice," said Bekti.
