SINGAPORE: Seafood restaurant chain Fish & Co. will be closing its Glasshouse outlet at Park Mall at the end of June, it announced.
"After almost 14 years, Fish & Co. @Glasshouse is due for permanent closure in June 2016 due to redevelopment works by Park Mall," said the seafood restaurant chain in a press release on Wednesday (Jan 20). The Glasshouse outlet - which is Fish & Co.'s most popular location - is located right beside Park Mall.
To commemorate the closure of its outlet at the "iconic building", Fish & Co. said it will be holding monthly activities at the Glasshouse till June. For example, April has been set aside for the needy and underprivileged, while activities in May will celebrate Mother's Day. Details for these activities will be released at a later date.
In June last year, it was announced that Park Mall will be redeveloped into a commercial development comprising two office blocks with an ancillary retail component. This followed the sale of the office and retail complex at Penang Road near the Orchard Road shopping belt for S$411.8 million.
Park Mall, which has a large number of lifestyle and home furnishing shops, is more than 40 years old with a remaining land lease tenure of 53 years. Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust acquired Park Mall in 2005 for S$245.1 million.
