Singapore's Keppel Corp, the world's largest builder of offshore oil rigs, has clinched orders worth around US$650 million to build three high-specification jackup rigs for new customer Fecon International Corp.

SINGAPORE: Singapore's Keppel Corp, the world's largest builder of offshore oil rigs, has clinched orders worth around US$650 million to build three high-specification jackup rigs for new customer Fecon International Corp.

Delivery of the rigs is scheduled for the second half of 2016, Keppel said in a statement on Thursday.

Fecon is a new player to the offshore oil and gas industry.

It is backed by experienced industrial entrepreneur, AP Dobrov, and it hopes to grab a slice of the growing offshore drilling markets of Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
