Shenyin Wanguo to set up in S'pore

China's oldest securities firm, Shenyin & Wanguo Securities Group, is setting up operations in Singapore.

SINGAPORE: China's oldest securities firm, Shenyin & Wanguo Securities Group is setting up operations in Singapore.

It will be the first fully owned Chinese brokerage company to be incorporated in Singapore.

With a registered capital of S$1.35 billion, the group's business scope includes securities brokerage, investment consultation and proprietary trading.

Shenyin Wanguo aims to attract more institutional investors from Singapore to invest in China.

It wants to serve as a link for investors from both countries that engage in integrated financial services and trade.

This move is expected to boost Singapore's position as a centre for offshore yuan clearing.
