Singapore shares ended 0.48% higher on Thursday amid signs of progress in the budget standoff in the US. The STI rose 15.07 points to close at 3,169.91.
SINGAPORE: Shares in Singapore ended 0.48 per cent higher on Thursday amid signs of progress in the budget standoff in the US.
The Straits Times Index rose 15.07 points to close at 3,169.91.
Volume was 3.28 billion shares.
Gainers led losers 288 to 130.
Jardine Matheson Holdings rose 1.35 per cent to US$55.67, Jardine Strategic Holdings climbed 2.65 per cent to US$34.50, while Jardine Cycle & Carriage ended 1.54 per cent higher at S$35.60.
Among banks, DBS was flat at S$16.37, UOB declined 0.1 per cent to S$20.60, while OCBC gained 0.3 per cent to S$10.23.
Golden Agri-Resources advanced 2.9 per cent to S$0.53, Wilmar International closed 2.2 per cent higher at S$3.29, while Noble Group climbed 5.24 per cent to S$1.005.
