Singapore stocks close flat

Singapore shares shrugged off gains on regional bourses and Wall Street to close flat on Friday. The STI fell 1.19 points, or 0.04 per cent, to end at 3,038.71.

SINGAPORE: Shares in Singapore shrugged off gains on regional bourses and Wall Street to close flat on Friday.

The Straits Times Index fell 1.19 points, or 0.04 per cent, to end at 3,038.71.

Volume was 1.77 billion shares.

In the broader market, gainers led losers 213 to 198.

Golden Agri-Resources lost 1.89 per cent to S$0.52, Wilmar International eased 0.93 per cent to S$3.20, while Noble Group was up 0.52 per cent at S$0.975.

Among banks, DBS dropped 0.3 per cent to S$16.48, UOB declined 0.4 per cent to S$19.90, while OCBC rose 0.54 per cent to S$9.38.

CapitaMalls Asia gained 3.16 per cent to S$1.795 while CapitaLand fell 0.69 per cent to S$2.88.
