Singapore stocks end 0.78% lower

Shares in Singapore closed 0.78 per cent lower on Friday, in line with regional bourses, following overnight losses on Wall Street.

SINGAPORE: Shares in Singapore closed 0.78 per cent lower on Friday, in line with regional bourses, following overnight losses on Wall Street.

The Straits Times Index fell 24.25 points to end at 3,075.99.

Volume was 2.24 billion shares.

Losers led gainers 256 to 141.

Golden Agri-Resources declined 1.9 per cent to S$0.515, Noble Group lost 2.55 per cent to S$0.955, while Wilmar International eased 0.3 per cent to S$3.20.

Among banks, DBS slipped 1 per cent to S$16.67, UOB ended 0.54 per cent lower at S$20.19, while OCBC was down 0.73 per cent at S$9.50.

Keppel Corp closed 1.84 per cent lower at S$10.68.
