SINGAPORE: Xpress Holdings on Tuesday (Mar 8) announced that its founder and Chief Operating Officer Mr Fong Kah Kuen will be stepping down at the end of the month.
Mr Fong, who started the Singapore Exchange (SGX) Mainboard-listed printing company in 1986, said he decided to step down to devote more time to pursue new business interests.
“With the successful hand-over to the new management team, it is time for me to devote my energies to new business opportunities that I am passionate about,” he said. “It is timely for me now to make a move as the Group has been successfully transformed from a traditional SME printing company to one that is technology-driven with a regional presence.”
Mr Fong was previously CEO of the group, and took on the role of COO in July 2015.
Under Mr Fong’s stewardship, Xpress became a listed company on the SGX in 1999. Through the years the company also increased its regional presence with offices and print stations spanning the Asia Pacific region, including Malaysia, Australia, Vietnam and Hong Kong.
The new management team will be led by Chairman Ma Wei Dong, when Mr Fong leaves on Mar 31.
