Taiwan singer Christine Fan suffered injuries to the left side of her face when she fell down at home on her way to the bathroom.

TAIPEI: Taiwan singer Christine Fan suffered injuries to the left side of her face on Tuesday when she fell down at home on her way to the bathroom.

Fan's face was swollen and she had bruises around her left eye along with a deep cut on her brow.

The singer, who is currently resting at home, originally received five stitches at the hospital for her wound.

However, it re-opened soon after, so she had to get another 20 stitches to close it.

The singer apologised for “worrying those who love me” in a micro blog post on Wednesday, and thanked her husband, television host Blackie Chen Jian Zhou for taking care of her.

“I can’t imagine what I would do without you by my side,” said Fan of her husband.
