EXO’s Kris wants out?

Korean boy band EXO’s Kris has filed a lawsuit against his management agency, SM Entertainment, in a bid to terminate his contract with the company.

SEOUL: Popular Korean boy band EXO’s Kris has filed a lawsuit against his management agency SM Entertainment on Thursday in a bid to terminate his contract with the company, reported Korean media.

The China-born singer will reportedly be represented by the same lawyer who had represented Chinese singer-actor Han Geng, a former member of boy band Super Junior, when he filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to have his contract nullified in 2009.

A representative from SM Entertainment told Korean media that the company is “perplexed” by this development, and would look into the matter.

EXO, which consists of 11 other members, was formed in 2011 and has released a number of hits including “Wolf” and “Growl”.

The band is widely seen as SM Entertainment’s next big act.

It is still unclear whether Kris’ lawsuit will affect the group’s upcoming gig in Seoul next week.
