Jackie Chan's son Jaycee used drugs since 2006

Beijing police have recently revealed that the son of action star Jackie Chan, Jaycee, who was arrested on Aug 14 for possessing and using marijuana, had confessed that he first took drugs in 2006.

BEIJING: Beijing police have recently revealed that the son of action star Jackie Chan, Jaycee, who was arrested on Aug 14 for possessing and using marijuana, had confessed that he first took drugs in the Netherlands in 2006, reported Chinese media.

Jaycee Chan told the police that he started using drugs because he thought he wouldn't get hooked, and that he had used drugs both alone and with his friends on various occasions since then.

Taiwan actor Kai Ko, who was also arrested along with Chan for using drugs, said he used drugs for the first time in 2012 at Chan’s home.

“I was surprised when he brought it [drugs] out at his home, but I thought it was fine because it was him (Chan). I stupidly thought that I could take it once and leave,” Ko told Beijing police.

Chan and Ko were arrested on Aug 14 after police acted on a tip-off from the public. The authorities seized over 100 grams of marijuana at Chan’s Beijing residence following their arrest.

While Ko has been charged with drug consumption, Chan faces the more serious charge of providing a venue for drug use.
