Jay Chou: “I’m not a good man”

Taiwan superstar Jay Chou says women should "think carefully" before deciding to marry him as he is "not a good man", and revealed that he hopes to tie the knot by next year.

TAIPEI: “Before you decide to marry me, you have to think carefully. Are you sure?”

“I think I’m not a good man. I’m a filial man but there is a lot of gossip surrounding me,” said Taiwan singer Jay Chou, when he met reporters after he spoke about songwriting at a music event on Tuesday.

Chou’s comments were in response to him emerging tops in a recent online poll titled “Male celebrity women most want to marry 2014”, which was conducted by a Taiwan website.

The 35-year-old singer appeared to be in a good mood and candidly answered questions from the media during the event, reported Taiwan media.

Chou, who has always been tight-lipped about his love life, even revealed that he intends to get married before he turns 36 in January, and quickly have children.

However, the singer, who is scheduled to perform at the National Stadium in Singapore on November 8, pointed out that he has not popped the question yet, but would make sure it will be a very special proposal.

Chou has been dating Taiwan model Hannah Quinlivan, who is about 14 years his junior, since 2011.

When asked if they are already trying for a child, Chou was taken aback and said the question was “too in-depth”, before adding that “the time is not yet right”.
