HONG KONG: Hong Kong veteran actor Law Kar Ying, who had successfully battled liver cancer many years ago, revealed Thursday in a micro blog post that he had recently undergone an operation to remove a 2cm tumour from his liver.
However, Law assured fans it was nothing to worry about and said he is recovering well.
“There is no need for chemotherapy … only 20 percent of my liver had to be removed.
“It is the same as ten years ago (when he was first diagnosed with liver cancer) … It hasn’t spread. It is easier to manage. I will get a lot better from now on,” said Law, in response to recent news reports that claim he is in poor health.
Law has appeared in numerous films throughout his career, and is known for playing a verbose monk in the 1994 comedy “A Chinese Odyssey”, alongside actor Stephen Chow.
