MediaCorp artistes, K-pop singers come together for NTU Fest charity carnival

A host of MediaCorp artistes like Rebecca Lim, Ian Fang and Julie Tan as well as Korean singer Kang Gary will attend the first ever NTU Fest charity carnival at the Padang on August 16.

SINGAPORE: MediaCorp artistes like Ian Fang, Julie Tan and Mata Mata 2 star Rebecca Lim will be among the many local celebrities who will be attending the Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) first ever NTU Fest charity carnival at the Padang on August 16.

Other local artistes who will be making an appearance at the event include The Noose actor Chua Enlai, Pan Ling Ling, Koh Ya Hui, Priscelia Chan, Zhang Zhen Huan, Jayley Woo and Tracy Lee.

NTU Fest aims to raise money for an endowment fund in aid of needy students from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), through the sale of carnival coupons and the registration fees for the 4.8-kilometre 5TYLO MILE-O Run, which will be held as part of the event.

Apart from doing a spot of stargazing, attendees will also get the opportunity to catch performances by singer Farisha Ishak, the final 12 contestants of the Project Superstar 2014 singing competition and rapper Kang Gary of Running Man fame, as well as his music partner Choi Jung-in, at a special concert in the evening.

“This is a very meaningful charity event organised by NTU undergraduates in aid of needy students from another institution,” said Kang in a media statement.

“I was an active student myself during my university days so I can feel their warm enthusiasm and understand all the hard work needed to organise a public event of this scale. Jung-in and I are delighted to support them by performing free at NTU Fest.”

Those who want mosh pit tickets can participate in Facebook contests and giveaways organised by NTUsg (NTU’s Facebook page), NTU Fest along with MediaCorp platforms and publications like Toggle, Channel U, Channel 5, 987FM, Y.E.S.93.3FM, i-Weekly, 8-Days as well as MeRadio.sg for a chance to win them.
