Oxide Pang says relationship with Angelica Lee is “okay”

Hong Kong director Oxide Pang revealed Monday that his relationship with his wife, actress Angelica Lee, is still "okay" after his affair with a Hong Kong model-actress came to light recently.

HONG KONG: Hong Kong director Oxide Pang on Monday revealed that his relationship with his wife, Malaysian actress Angelica Lee, is still “okay”, after his affair with Hong Kong model Liddy Li came to light recently, reported Hong Kong media.

Speaking to reporters at the airport in Kuala Lumpur, Pang, who was on his way to Beijing to discuss his upcoming film “Out of Inferno 2” with his partners, said he and Lee were “okay” but refused to answer further questions about “family matters”.

The 48-year-old director was accosted by reporters while waiting for a connecting flight to Beijing in Hong Kong later that day.

“It’s really dramatic. Honestly, even my films aren’t this exciting,” Pang told reporters in Hong Kong.

“I never made the headlines this often with my films.”

Pang touched down in Beijing on Tuesday to find another group of reporters waiting for him.

When asked by the Chinese media about reports that claimed he had given Li a generous sum of money as a ‘breakup fee’ to get her to make a clean break with him, Pang said the reports were "false" and "made up".

He also denied that Lee, who was photographed at a hospital in Malaysia recently, was so upset by his infidelity that she had fallen ill.

Pang explained that Lee just had “a stomach ache”.
