TAIPEI: Taiwan singer Anthony Neely revealed Tuesday, during a media conference for his new album “Friends”, that he has “a companion” and had been going out with her for over three years.
When asked why he had kept it under wraps for so long, Neely explained that he had stayed silent about it out of consideration for her.
“I am not afraid. But my other half is a little concerned.
“Protecting her is my duty,” said Neely.
However, there are no wedding bells in sight for the pair.
Neely said he would get married “one day” but pointed out that it is difficult to make “detailed long-term plans” and would “leave everything to fate”.
Anthony Neely shares weight loss secret
It was a slimmer, happier Neely who met the media on Tuesday.
The singer looked plump last year, but had successfully shed seven kilogrammes over the past few months to hit a comfortable 78kg.
Neely expressed that he became “listless and unhappy” due to a variety of reasons after he gained weight.
“It is only this year that I changed my outlook and realised 'It seems I am really a little fat, I need to lose weight',” said the 27-year-old singer.
Neely said his weight loss secret is proper exercise and constant eating - he had been eating six smaller meals a day, and lived on a diet of salad as well as chicken sandwiches.
“Eating more often can increase your metabolism,” said the singer.
“With food always in your stomach, you are less likely to suddenly get hungry and eat too much.”
