Popular Singapore drama "The Dream Makers" will get a sequel next year, the show's producer said.
SINGAPORE: A sequel to the hit drama “The Dream Makers”, which picked up numerous accolades at this year’s Star Awards, has been greenlit.
Like “The Dream Makers”, the sequel will revolve around the lives and loves of people working at a television station.
However, “The Dream Makers” producer Winnie Wong said the sequel will “definitely be bolder than the first series”, and “go into greater detail about what happens behind the scenes in the industry”.
She added that the sequel “will have new characters and new elements” and said the production team is “not sure which characters from the original drama will stay and which characters will go”, because the script hasn’t been completed yet.
The as-yet-unnamed sequel will most likely go into production next year.
“The Dream Makers” boasted a star-studded cast including Singapore actresses Zoe Tay, Chen Liping, Rui En, Jeanette Aw, Rebecca Lim and actors Qi Yuwu, Chen Hanwei as well as Shaun Chen.
The drama enjoyed excellent ratings throughout its run, and was named Best Drama Serial at this year’s Star Awards.
