Popular video game "World of Warcraft" is getting a film adaptation that will be released on December 18, 2015.
LOS ANGELES: A film adaptation of the popular video game “World of Warcraft” will hit cinema screens on December 18, 2015, reported US media.
The film is expected to go into production early next year.
Details about the film’s cast and storyline are scant, though English director Duncan Jones has been confirmed as the director of the film.
Jones, the son of singer David Bowie, had previously directed the science fiction films “Moon” and “Source Code”.
“World of Warcraft” remains one of the most popular online games ever made, despite experiencing large fluctuations in its user base recently.
Produced by game developer Blizzard Entertainment, “World of Warcraft” was released in 2005 and has about 7 million subscribers today.
