SINGAPORE: A 54-year-old Singaporean Chinese woman was found dead in a flat at Block 440 Tampines St 43 on Thursday (Aug 21).
The woman was believed to be covered in blood in her bedroom when she was found.
Police say they were alerted to the case at 10:04am. Upon arrival, they found the woman motionless and she was pronounced dead at about 10.18am by paramedics. An 80-year-old man, believed to be her father-in-law, was arrested.
At least one neighbour Channel NewsAsia spoke with said she has not heard of any conflict or quarrels in the victim's home.
"I didn't hear anything. This morning I was asleep. When I woke up, there was a van and an ambulance. We have been (living) here about seven years, but there has been no commotion." said Ms Nur Idayu.
The police have classified the case as murder. Investigations are ongoing.
