SINGAPORE: A body, believed to be that of a crew member from the barge which capsized in Singapore waters on December 19, has been found.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said Indonesian authorities recovered a body off Tanjung Pinang on Tuesday at about 6.15am.
The identity of the body is being verified.
MPA said it is not yet clear whether the body is that of one of the missing crew members from the capsized Bolivia-flagged barge, Heng Hong 168.
Six crew members were rescued by Singapore's Police Coast Guard on the day of the accident on December 19 about three nautical miles west of the Horsburgh Lighthouse.
Another crew member of the barge that capsized was found alive and drifting off Bintan Island on Sunday morning.
Three others are still missing.
In all, the barge had 11 crew members, all Chinese nationals.
