Change in management structure at The Online Citizen

Socio-political website now managed by The Opinion Collaborative Ltd, a social enterprise registered under the Companies Act.

SINGAPORE: Local website The Online Citizen (TOC) on Wednesday (June 4) announced a shift in its management structure. In a media release, TOC said it will be managed by The Opinion Collaborative Ltd, a social enterprise registered under the Companies Act, with immediate effect.

"TOC will retain its full editorial independence, while ceding its administrative and management functions, including those of fund-raising and revenue generation, to TOC Ltd," it said in its statement.

The new corporate entity will enable the website to raise funds, generate, retain and disburse revenue, the socio-political portal added. "What it does change is the way we raise funds - which we are in desperate need of," it said in a Facebook post.

There will be no changes to the editorial team at TOC for now, according to the statement.
