Club 21's server hacked

One of the servers for Club 21 has been hacked, but the luxury retailer says customers' credit and debit card information have not been compromised.

SINGAPORE: Luxury retailer Club 21 has filed a police report after one of its computer servers was attacked by hackers. A spokesperson told Channel NewsAsia the data on the server involved obsolete membership card numbers, with information such as the customer's name and identity card numbers.

Access to customers' data was closed off as soon as the breach was discovered on May 19 and no credit card or debit card information was compromised, said the spokesperson. Customers' passwords were also unaffected as they were contained in a separate server.

An external computer forensic agency has been hired to help in the investigations.
