Crown Prince of Brunei in Singapore for five-day visit

SINGAPORE: The Crown Prince of Brunei Al-Muhtadee Billah is in Singapore for a five-day official visit. His visit is at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Affairs Minister Teo Chee Hean.

The Crown Prince and his wife met President Tony Tan Keng Yam at the Istana, and his visit is part of the Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders' Programme (YLP).

The programme, which was mooted by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during his visit to Brunei in 2012, is intended to strengthen ties between younger leaders from both countries.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry said the Crown Prince's visit reaffirms the excellent relations and longstanding friendship between Singapore and Brunei.
