SINGAPORE: Final reports have been submitted to the Committee to Strengthen National Service (CSNS).
These were handed in by the "Support for NS" and "Recognition and Benefits for National Service" working groups.
The committee will announce its recommendations by June.
The reports were submitted during the 7th Steering Committee Meeting on Friday morning at SAFRA Mount Faber.
On the agenda were recommendations following the latest round of public feedback, including suggestions on how to improve the Individual Physical Proficiency Test, as well as how to enhance measures to support NSmen in the areas of housing, healthcare and education.
The discussion also covered the possibility of expanding the roles of the Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence and the SAF Veterans' League.
These would help to deepen engagement with key stakeholders.
More than 40,000 people have taken part in the public consultation effort.
