SINGAPORE: A forklift driver has been charged with the murder of a woman, whose headless body was found in the canal near Block 110 McNair Road on December 12.
The alleged murder took place at 228A Balestier Road.
25-year-old Gursharan Singh, who was charged on Friday morning with the murder of Jasvinder Kaur, was assisting the police in investigations at the alleged crime scene.
He is accused of murdering the 33-year-old woman, also an Indian national, between December 10 and 12.
The accused, said to be a friend of the woman's husband, is said to have committed the offence together with an unidentified man, who is on the run.
On December 12 at about 7.30am, the police were notified of the female body at McNair Road.
They found the deceased's head missing and both hands severed at the wrists.
Authorities are currently looking for 33-year-old Indian national, Harvinder Singh, said to be the dead woman's husband, to assist with police investigations.
The case will be heard again on December 27.
