Direct admission exercises to secondary schools, JCs and polytechnics begin

Students interested in applying for direct admission to secondary schools, junior colleges (JC) and polytechnics may start to do so from this month.

SINGAPORE: Students interested in applying for direct admission to secondary schools, junior colleges (JC) and polytechnics may start to do so from this month.

The Direct Admission Exercises recognise a more diverse range of talents, achievements and personal qualities, the Ministry of Education said.

Schools and polytechnics are given the flexibility to admit students based on these qualities using a transparent and meritocratic process, it added.

This year, 123 schools will participate in the Direct School Admission-Secondary Exercise, while 21 institutions are involved in the exercise for JCs. All five polytechnics are participating in the Direct Polytechnic Admission exercise.
