Elderly woman injured after tree falls on taxi stand

The 70-year-old woman suffered cuts on her forehead and was sent via ambulance to Changi General Hospital.

SINGAPORE: A large tree fell on top of a taxi stand in Marine Parade on Thursday (Aug 21) morning, injuring a 70-year-old woman.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) says it was alerted at 10:28am. The incident took place at  Block 54 Marine Terrace, and the elderly Chinese woman suffered cuts on her forehead. She was sent via ambulance to Changi General Hospital.

Twitter user Serina Tan posted pictures of the aftermath, saying "Big tree collapsed suddenly, shattering taxi stand."
