SINGAPORE: Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will visit Beijing and Tianjin from Friday till Monday.
Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Mr Goh is visiting Tianjin to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, which is the second government-to-government project between Singapore and China.
In Beijing, he will meet Communist Party of China (CPC) Politburo Standing Committee member and Executive Vice Premier of the State Council Zhang Gaoli.
In Tianjin, he will meet CPC Politburo member and Tianjin Party Secretary Sun Chunlan and be hosted to lunch by Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo.
Mr Goh will also participate in the commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the Tianjin Eco-City, and deliver the keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 4th China (Binhai Tianjin) International Eco-city Forum and Expo on Sunday.
He will be accompanied by Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Culture, Community and Youth Sam Tan, Member of Parliament Mah Bow Tan, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Development.
