Families bond at carnival

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong joined about 2,500 residents at the Ang Mo Kio-Hougang Family Carnival held at the ITE College Central on Sunday (Aug 31). The annual event aims to bring families together and bond through various games and activities.

SINGAPORE: About 2,500 residents gathered at the ITE College Central on Sunday (Aug 31) to celebrate Singapore's 49th birthday. Joining in the fun was Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Two weeks ago, ITE College Central was where PM Lee delivered his National Day Rally speech. On Sunday, the school hosted the Ang Mo Kio-Hougang Family Carnival. The annual event aims to bring families together and bond through various games and activities.

As part of the celebrations, 49 residents ran from Ci Yuan Community Centre to ITE College Central. There were also performances by preschool children and a kompang competition.
