The height limit for exhibits has been increased more than three-fold to 10m, thanks to its new outdoor location at Gardens by the Bay
SINGAPORE: The Singapore Garden Festival returns for the fifth time this year, and aims to reach new heights - literally.
The festival, which is being held at a new location at Gardens by the Bay from Aug 16 to 24, has increased the height limit for exhibits more than three-fold, in a bid to wow visitors. The previous limit was 3m, as the festival was held indoors. This has now been raised to 10m.
Also breaking new height records this year is the Orchid Extravaganza, which features a 10m-tall orchid kaleidoscope that gives visitors a stunning visual spectrum of colours. Some 18,000 plants and over 40 orchird species and hybrids are also on display.
The festival boasts 15 Fantasy and Landscape Show Gardens, as well as the Floral Windows to the World exhibit featuring colourful flower displays with stunning design and lighting from floral designers all around the world.
Unlike previous years, the outdoor location means that visitors can now admire the beauty of the gardens both during the day and at night
