But it's too late to get a place now: All 15,000 slots were snapped up within 24 hours, organisers announced.

SINGAPORE: Get this, Hello Kitty fans: The world’s most famous feline character is turning 40 on Nov 1, and she will be celebrating her birthday bash here with some 15,000 fans.

An inaugural Hello Kitty Run Singapore will commemorate the event. It will be the only Hello Kitty birthday bash in South-East Asia and is set to feature a one-of-a-kind birthday cake and birthday song sung by fans.

Since her first appearance in 1974, Hello Kitty has flourished into a global phenomenon adored by both young and old.

Event participants will be entitled to an exclusive runner’s t-shirt and a special edition commemorative Hello Kitty plush toy. Registration is now open and is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

1.55PM UPDATE: Organisers of the run have announced that all 15,000 slots were taken within 24 hours. Pre-registration for the Hello Kitty Run Singapore is officially closed.
