Home Team Academy, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy team up to train leaders

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the Home Team Academy and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy will collaborate in the training of current and future leaders.

SINGAPORE: The Home Team Academy (HTA) and the National University of Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKY School) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday (Feb 11).

Under the MoU, HTA and LKY School will collaborate in the training of current and future Home Team (HT) Leaders. "The partnership will draw on the strengths of the LKY School's extensive knowledge and network in governance and public policy, and the HT's practical know-how in law enforcement, and safety and security," the release said.

The agreement will facilitate further exchange of knowledge and ideas between HTA and LKY School, and advance a shared interest in raising the standards of leadership and governance in Singapor, the release said.

"The MoU signifies the shared aspirations of HTA and LKY School to continually educate current and future generations of leaders in the areas of governance and public policy to improve the lives of citizens and contribute to Singapore's future development," it added.

According to the release, the MoU was signed by HTA's Senior Director, Development Programmes and Projects Teo Tze Fang and LKY School's Associate Dean (Research and Executive Education) Donald Low.

Said Mr T Raja Kumar, Deputy Secretary (International) Ministry of Home Affairs and Chief Executive of the HTA: "The HTA-LKY School partnership enables the HT to develop our leaders to be strategic and forward-looking in their orientation and perspectives amidst the current rapidly changing environment."
